Local pickup
0%
No fees, no cuts. You pocket 100% of the cash.
Shipped orders
10%
Or $0.80 minimum on items under $8.
What the 10% covers
When you ship through Marketplace's checkout, the 10% selling fee includes:
- Payment processing (no separate Stripe/PayPal fee)
- Buyer/seller protection (covers undelivered or significantly-not-as-described claims)
- Marketplace's shipping label (deducted from your payout — use it, it's discounted)
Hidden costs to plan for
- 5-day payout hold. Funds release 5 business days after delivery confirmation. New sellers may see longer holds.
- Bank transfer delay. Add 1-3 business days for the ACH to land.
- Returns are buyer-friendly. Facebook sides with buyers on most "not as described" claims — photograph flaws clearly.
- 1099-K threshold. Hit $600+ in shipped sales (2026 IRS threshold) and Facebook reports your income.
Local vs shipped — which is better?
| Factor | Local pickup | Shipped |
|---|---|---|
| Fees | 0% | 10% |
| Audience | ~50 miles | Nationwide |
| Payment risk | Counterfeit cash, sketchy meetups | Protected |
| Best for | Furniture, large items, tools | Clothes, small electronics, collectibles |
| Speed to cash | Same day | 7-10 days |
How to actually maximize profit
- Cross-list shipped items on Marketplace AND eBay — Marketplace's 10% beats eBay's 13.25% on most categories
- For local: list slightly above your floor, expect 15-20% negotiation
- Use Marketplace's prepaid label — it's 20-40% cheaper than retail USPS
- Avoid sub-$8 shipped items — the $0.80 minimum eats your margin
- Bundle small items into a single listing to push past the flat fee threshold
