StockX fees explained

StockX takes three bites out of every sale:

  • Transaction fee — 9% for new sellers, dropping to 7% as you level up
  • 3% payment processing on the sale price
  • Shipping to authentication — usually $13.95 for shoes via the StockX label

That means a brand-new seller listing a $200 pair keeps about $162 before cost of goods. After 50+ sales the same pair pays out closer to $166.

Sneaker reseller profit tips

  • Level up fast: take low-margin sales early to drop your fee from 9% → 7%
  • Compare StockX vs GOAT payout per pair — the lower-fee platform can swing $5+ per sale
  • Track cost-per-pair including tax, app fees, and bot subs — most resellers undercount
  • Reprice based on lowest ask weekly — stale asks cost you the sale
